Azalea Vivid | Live Plants | Red Flowering Rhododendron Blooming Shrubs

This evergreen azalea blooms bright red flowers several times a year. Its semi-dwarf growth habit reaches 3-6 feet tall. It is ideally used as a screen, accent, hedge, and highlight areas. It is essential to frequently water newly planted azaleas due to their shallow root systems. The amount of water necessary should equal one inch of rain per week. Pruning helps maintain an attractive look while inducing branching for seasonal blooming. This variety makes a great low growing border along shady walkways, foundation plantings on the shadier shade of any house, building, etc. maintains a nice neat shape with minimal trimming & maintenance. One of our favorite Azaleas here at our nursery. Like all Azaleas, Vivid prefers semi shade, and will even do well in planting locations with mostly shade and does not particularly like strong exposure to strong midday summer sun. Shallow, non aggressive root system makes them a great foundation planting choice, and can even be planted closely together for use as a colorful hedge. Vivid Azalea is a super compact, tighly branched little azalea that packs a huge colorful punch!! Very small, glossy dark green foliage is totally evergreen and literally covered with bright cherry red blooms all spring. Blooms have a semi ruffled look, and are actually a decent size for such a compact little variety.
