Florida Foliage
Abelia Grandiflora Edward Goucher | Large Gallon Size Plants
Beautiful, semi-evergreen shrub with gracefully arching branches. Small, bell-shaped, lilac pink flowers; leaves turn bronze in the fall. Useful in a border planting, as a divider or informal hedge. A fine-textured, lacy and open shrub that associates well with dark-green shrubs in a border, on a sunny bank or near corners for a softening effect. Follow a regular watering schedule during the first growing season to establish a deep, extensive root system. Requires less frequent watering when established. Feed with a general purpose fertilizer before new growth begins in spring. For a tidy, neat appearance, shear annually to shape. Pruning time- winter. This evergreen shrub features arching branches with lacy foliage. Its bell-shaped flowers bloom from early summer to fall and are lilac pink in color. Ideally used as a border or screen. This low-maintenance evergreen needs a regular water schedule to ensure the growth of a mature root system. The first year of growth requires watering weekly. After the mature root system is established, watering is needed occasionally, except during a drought, watering is needed regularly. Shear annually to maintain desired shape.
